Rescue Mission Offers Weekly Narcotics Anonymous Meetings

ROME, NY — The Rome Rescue Mission opens its doors weekly to host Narcotics Anonymous. Narcotics Anonymous is an international, community-based association of recovering drug addicts with over 70,000 weekly meetings in 144 countries worldwide. Membership in Narcotics Anonymous is voluntary; no attendance records are kept either for NA’s own purposes or for others. According to NA World Services, Inc., the following are demographics for members:

  • Gender: 59% male, 41% female.
  • Age: 1% 20 years old and under, 11% 21–30 years old, 21% 31–40 years old, 24% 41–50 years old, 29% 51-60 years old, and 14% over 60 years old.
  • Ethnicity: 74% Caucasian, 11% African- American, 6% Hispanic, and 9% other.
  • Employment status: 60% employed full- time, 12% employed part-time, 11% retired, 9% unemployed, 4% students, and 4% homemakers.

Narcotics Anonymous meets at 413 E. Dominick Street in Rome on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 7:30 PM to 9:00 PM. The Rome Rescue Mission is a Christian organization committed to assisting the least, the last and the lost.
