Rome Rescue Mission in Need of Donations for Thanksgiving Meals

ROME, NY… The Rome Rescue Mission is asking the community for help with providing Holiday meals to those in need. The Mission needs food and monetary donations to help serve over 3,000 meals this Thanksgiving.

Donations are accepted Monday – Friday at 413 East Dominick Street 9AM – 6PM & Saturday and Sunday 9AM-2PM.

The Rome Rescue Mission needs 1,000 Turkeys plus all the fixings for Thanksgiving. Food items needed include Turkeys, stuffing, cranberry sauce, white potatoes, sweet potatoes, dinner rolls, vegetables, corn, green beans, coffee, hot cocoa, creamer, sugar, milk, juice, eggs, bacon, sausage, fruit, everything for tossed salad, mayonnaise, salt, pepper, pies/desserts, snacks: dips, chips, cheese, crackers, nuts, candy, to go containers, gallon size freezer zip lock bags.

“Our services are critical to helping struggling families. We provide a warm, traditional meal to our neighbors in need every year.” Matt Miller, Executive Director of the Rome Rescue Mission said. “Our goal is for no one to go hungry on Thanksgiving.”

Monetary donations are also accepted, and checks can be mailed to PO box 337, Rome NY 13440 or online donations at www.RomeMission.org.

A Thanksgiving turkey giveaway will be conducted on a first come, first served basis until all are gone on November 18th at 280 East Dominick Street side yard.

Thanksgiving Meal delivery is available on Wednesday November 23rd at the following locations:

Rome Mall Apartments – 12 PM – 12:15

Georgian Arms- 12:30 PM – 12:45 PM

Colonial Apartments l – 1:00-1:20 PM

Colonial Apartments ll – 130-1;50 PM

Madison Plaza – 2:00-2:30 pm

On Thanksgiving Day, the Rome Rescue Mission will have a Continental Breakfast from 9am to 10:00am. Also, Thanksgiving Dinner will be served November 24th from 1:00 until 3:00pm. Take-outs will be available on Thanksgiving Day, too.

The Rome Rescue Mission will be closed the day after Thanksgiving, Friday, November 25th.

The Rome Rescue Mission is a Christian organization committed to assisting the least, the last, and the lost. The Rome Rescue Mission serves 200 meals per day and has an 18-bed shelter for women and children.
