The Rome Rescue Mission is a Christian ministry helping those in need. Offering a hand up—not a handout—are the words that the organization lives and serves by.

We are the Rome Rescue Mission.

Welcome to a safe and compassionate Christian environment.

Rome Rescue Mission began in 1993 as a transitional housing facility and soup kitchen for the greater Rome area. Since then, it has grown to offer family services, emergency housing, clothing, and a program for Rome Free Academy students that emphasizes science, technology, engineering, the arts, and mathematics.

In 2016, the organization introduced its Mobile Mission program to extend services beyond its four walls. A van delivers hot meals, clothing, and canned foods directly to neighborhoods while offering chapel services and outreach for homeless, veteran, and senior populations.

Our Mission

Our Mission resonates with all that we do for every individual, each and every day.

We are a Christian organization promoting a means of hope by giving shelter to the homeless, food for the poor, and encouraging an active and healthy personal relationship with God for all individuals and families.

Our Board

Our Board of Directors collaborates with our staff to provide guidance and support for the Mission’s goals for its clients and the community.

Khale Davison

Khale is the president of InstaChek and American Recovery Systems and served in the US Air Force for a short stint from 1972 to 1992. After retirement, he started a local company to assist local businesses with their bad check problems, later merchant services needs, and accounts receivable problems. Along the way, one of his customers introduced him to the Rome Rescue Mission, and he has been “hooked” ever since. “Seeing the work that these folks do day in and day out to help the less fortunate in the community is heart-wrenching. Some of the stories of the folks we help are absolutely devastating to hear; I cannot imagine having to live them!”

Jennifer Beach Brillante

Jennifer is the President of C & D Advertising, located right here in Rome, New York. Born and raised in Rome, Jenn brings her marketing passion to the board of the Rome Rescue Mission, along with a heart for serving others and our city. What is your favorite quote? Romans 8:28: “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him and who have been called according to his purpose.” I feel blessed to be able to use my time, talent, and treasure to serve the mission and those in need.
